General Plot
An average girl with an average life, Sakura's world is forever changed the day she accidentally releases the Clow Cards from the Book of Clow. Now with her best friend Madison at her side she must capture the cards before they wreak havoc on the world, all the while coming into confrontation with her rival Li.

| Sakura Avalon
The heroine of the series, she is a young girl with an upbeat attitude and willingness to help others. She takes on her role of captor with enthusiasm and never hesitates to collect the cards in order to tame their powers.

| Li Showron
A descendant of Clow Reed, the creator of the cards, he feels an obligation to capture the cards and become the new Card Master. A fierce rival at the start of the series, he slowly softens to Sakura's naturally kind nature.

| Cerberus
A magical creature who is a guardian of the Clow cards, he assists Sakura on her journey to capture the scattered powers. His true form is that of a great lion, but he is most often seen in a miniature form similar in appearance to an orange plushie.

| Madison Taylor
Sakura's friend with a close attachment to her, Madison knows of the cards and assists the captor by creating her diverse outfits. She also carries her trusty camera to film Sakura's exploits.

| Meilin Rae
The fiance of Li, she tries to assist him to capture the cards regardless of her lack of magical powers. Loud and tomboyish, she is nonetheless a loyal friend who eventually comes to acknowledge Sakura and call off the proposed marriage.

An older student who Sakura has a crush on, he is the hidden moon guardian of the Clow Cards, Yue. Released from imprisonment at the final capture of the cards, he comes to accept his split personalities.

| Clow Reed
The creator of the cards, he was a great magician who planned Sakura's ascension to be Master of the Clow before his death. Later in the series he is reborn as Eli Moon and is seen assisting Sakura on her future adventures with the cards.
